Day 1: Summer 2013 Drive N Bike — California Here I Come!

Cali 071813When I decided to do another Drive N Bike, I was inspired by the opportunity to see parts of the country that I love while discovering other areas that I have always wanted to visit.  Last year’s trip taught me a great deal about finding peace in being alone, taking comfort in embracing an adventure, and discovering the energy in connecting with others in their comfortable part of the world.

Last year I was blessed with a multitude of wonderful experiences are actively part of my humorous or emotional life stories.  I connected with old friends, made new connections, and received powerful life lessons from perfect strangers.  When I hit the road last year, I didn’t know what to expect. Everything was new, unique, and somewhat frightening.

This trip features many of the same emotions and reflections.  The only difference is that I have a higher degree of comfort that this adventure will be special!

As I made the transition from the brown, hot landscape of Arizona over the mountains to the lush, green, and cooler ocean influenced climate of San Diego, I am reminded how much I miss the water and the colorful landscapes.  Arizona has been very, very good to me. Great friends, incredible business opportunities, and the place where my life was changed forever.

Despite the gift in my time in Scottsdale, there are times where I don’t feel this will be my last stop. I don’t know where I am going.  I do not know exactly what I am searching for.  And, I sometimes wonder why I am so restless.  Maybe I simply need a good road trip adventure to charge me up.

I will be gone for twenty-two days.  I will cover over four thousand miles.  I will ride at least five hundred miles.  Those are the givens. What I am going to discover are new connections, new experiences, new lessons, and new surroundings.  Every one of you get to experience them with me if you follow along.  I hope you do.  Enjoy!
