It all began with a phone call informing me my son was in jail. What unfolded from that call was a story of homelessness, legal troubles, and a heroin addiction.
This is where my addiction journey began.
In the early stages I learned all about addiction related behaviors. I received a crash course in theft, deception, arrest, court systems, and jail. With every relapse, every arrest, every painful event, I felt more the failure as a man and a dad. All this became so painful, so difficult and so overwhelming it broke me.
Thankfully, there is so much more to this story and it gets much better from here.
