What is The 100Day Challenge?
This is your opportunity to commit and take action on something you know you need or want to do to change or improve your life. Every one of us has something that we inherently desire to take action on; yet, when we start to think about it we get caught up in the mental gymnastics associated with it. Through the 100Day Challenge you will finally put your desires into action!
How does it work?
- Very simply you commit to an action or activity or behavior for 100 consecutive days. Your commitment does not need to be something ridiculous to the point where you are more fearful of failure than you are of success. It does need to be something that challenges you. Because each of us views a challenge differently, I cannot suggest what your challenge needs to be. I can help you define that outcome and your commitment if you want my assistance.
- You know what you desire to accomplish and what the biggest obstacle to that desired outcome is – that is your challenge!
- After you decide what your challenge is, define your vision for success. Your challenge is not a goal; your challenge is related to your vision of creating a different situation, outcome or condition in your life. Here are some examples of this thought process:
- A desire to have more energy – I will exercise every day for at least 30 minutes
- A desire to share happiness – I will have an engaging conversation with a stranger every day
- A desire to be more productive – I am going to protect the first 90 minutes of every day for my most important activities
- A desire to be healthier – I am going to eat more fruits and veggies every day
- Your challenge and your vision are yours — it is up to you to define. In the 100Pedals journey my vision was “be strong for Brandon when he is present and stronger for me when he is not.” This would translate into a 100Pedals Challenge as:
- Vision: A desire for more clarity and strength in my life.
- Commitment: I will ride my bike for one hour a day.
- Create a vision for your life that will move you to a different place and challenge yourself with an activity or behavior that you know will help you get there. That is your challenge and your vision. The vision is what drives you – the challenge is the yardstick of accomplishment.
- Every day make note of your accomplishment. Celebrate it by registering your accomplishment in the 100Day Challenge Tracker.
- Make notes, share your commitment, and celebrate your experience along the way on the 100Pedals Forum and on The 100Day Challenge Tracker. I will email you The 100Day Challenge Tracker when you register!
- Invite a friend! If you have a friend you know who would love this challenge bring them along!
- I will be there the entire way cheering and supporting you.
- I will also be engaged in my own new challenge. This will be fun!
